Neutering Your Dog

If your dog is not intended for breeding, it is always advisable to get him or her neutered. Neutered dogs are easier to handle in many aspects:

  • Neutering male dogs at a young enough age reduces humping or mounting behaviour. They also have less tendency to be dominant and won’t run away just because they’ve found an interesting smell!
  • Similarly, with female dogs there will be less temperamental behaviour and you won’t have to deal with spotting & discharge from a bitch in heat.
  • Also, you reduce the risk of some cancers and the dangerous condition of pyometra, a life-threatening womb infection.

Neutering is performed at the clinic as a day surgery. So, on the appointed day, you bring your dog to us in the morning and take it back home in the evening.
