From 12 weeks of age on, your kitten can be vaccinated. This is a good opportunity to bring your new pet to the clinic for a full check-up as well.  The vet will discuss everything else you need to know to look after your kitten.

The basic vaccination covers the cat flu complex and parvovirus. There is another vaccine available to protect your cat from FeLV, a type of cancer caused by a virus. After the first vaccination, your cat will need a booster about 4 weeks later.

After this primary course, a yearly checkup and booster is needed. Once your cat gets towards ten years of age, it is a good idea to request a blood test. This allows us to spot any emerging health problems early.
