Microchipping
Microchipping and a pet passport will be needed if your cat will be traveling. While obligatory in dogs, cats do not have to have a microchip, but you can choose to have this done. Your address details will be logged onto a database together with the chip‘s number. This makes it easier to get your cat back to you should they ever get lost.
If you are going to cross borders with your cat, then they will need a microchip and a pet passport. They may also need a rabies vaccination and possibly a blood test. Call us on (074) 937 4127 to make a passport appointment and our vet will talk you through the details.
